Lake Nasser
Lake Nasser is the world’s largest artificial lake. It is more than 500 km (310 miles) south of the High Dam and goes as deep as 180 m. (590 feet). A lake was made with the help of the High Dam. The History of Lake Nasser
Gamal Abdel Nasser, the former president of Egypt, was in charge of building the Aswan High Dam. The reservoir it made is named after him. The dam building that now controls Lake Nasser’s northern end caused the flooding that created the lake in 1970. People were against the Aswan High Dam construction, even though it significantly increased Egypt’s hydroelectric production and let officials control Nile floods so that fertile land north of the Dam could still be used.

Lake Nasser Temples
