About Steigenberger Omar El Khayam
The MS Steigenberger Omar El Khayam Lake Cruise has sailed Lake Nasser since 2008 — not the newest ship on the route, but one of the largest, with 80 cabins and suites across six decks connected by a glass elevator, carrying up to 160 guests. Panoramic windows open onto private balconies in every cabin, and the ship also operates under the Jaz and, historically, Viking names, so you may see it listed under any of those.
Onboard, named spaces do the work generic ones can't: the Abu Nawas restaurant seats everyone in a single sitting, the Bashawat and Mamlouk lounge bars anchor the evenings, and the Cleopatra Spa adds jacuzzis, a steam bath, sauna, and massage rooms to the large sundeck pool and billiard room.
Sailings alternate 4 nights from Aswan to Abu Simbel and 3 nights back, departing Mondays from Aswan and Fridays from Abu Simbel, calling at Nubian sites most Nile cruises never reach: Kalabsha Temple, the Kiosk of Kertassi, Beit El Wali, Wadi El Seboua, and Kasr Ibrim, alongside the Abu Simbel temples themselves.

Arrival of Abu Simbel
Welcome to Abu Simbel: Check in on Steigenberger Omar El Khayam Lake Cruise at noon, have lunch and visit the famous Temple of Abu Simbel, the Temple of Ramses II, a large temple built in the New Kingdom; this temple was dedicated to the worship of four gods, Ptah, Amun Ra, and Ra Hor Akhti and Ramses II himself As a deity, then visit the small temple of his wife Nefertari, and return to your cruise. In the evening (optional sound and light show in Abu Simbel). Dinner and overnight in Abu Simbel.
Qasr Ibrim and Amada & Wadi Al-Sabwa
Sail to Kasr Ibrim. Breakfast on board and a panorama visit to Qasr Ibrim Castle (external), transfer to Amada during lunch, then visit Amada temples, return and continue sailing towards Wadi Al-Sabwa, light show (Sabwa Valley). Dinner and overnight in Wadi Al-Sabwa.
Wadi Al-Sibwa Temple and Al-Daqqa & Aswan
After breakfast, enjoy a day tour to visit the Wadi Sebwa Temple; the temple was built during the reign of Ramses II to celebrate his victory in Kush. The Arabic name "Wadi Al-Sabwa" translates to "Valley of the Lions", then visit the temple of Dakka. After visits return to cruise and sail to Aswan, dinner, and Nubian show. Overnight in Aswan.
Kalabsha Temple and Beit Al-Wali - Final Departure
Have breakfast and set out from Steigenberger Omar El Khayam Lake Cruise, then visit Kalabsha Temple and visit Beit El Wali (one of the famous temples of Ramses II). After the visit, go to Aswan airport or train station for departure.

Welcome to Aswan: Check-in at 12 noon, lunch, and free day. Dinner and Nubian show. Overnight in Aswan.

Breakfast and transfer to visit Kalabsha Temple, visit the ruler’s house (one of the famous temples of Ramses II), have lunch on board the ship, and then sail to Wadi Al-Sabwa. Dinner and overnight in Wadi Al-Sabwa.
Wadi Al-Sabwa, Al-Daqqa, and Imadah
Breakfast and visit the Wadi Sebwa temple, the temple was built during the reign of Ramses II to celebrate his victory in Kush.
