Karim Nile Steamer Cruise Overview
Built in 1917, this historic ship was used by King Fuad I of Egypt and his son King Farouk. After the Egyptian revolution, S/S Karim was used by the government to transport leaders such as Gamal Abdel Nasser, Anwar El-Sadat, and Jihan El-Sadat to various places. Although modernized with modern features, the S/S Karim still has the same elegance as when it was first built in 1917. It still has a steam engine and all-wheel drive. The vintage-style boat decor contains a number of subtle nods to its long and interesting past. The restaurant offers buffet and waiter service, and serves a large selection of foreign and Egyptian dishes. This elegant room sleeps up to 32 people for a candlelit dinner in the air.
