The Journey
Aswan – High Dam & Philae Temple
Your journey begins in Aswan, where our representative will meet you at the airport, train station, or hotel and escort you to the Iris Deluxe Dahabiya. Upon boarding, enjoy a warm welcome from the crew before settling into your cabin. After check-in, enjoy a freshly prepared lunch onboard. Later, step into ancient Egyptian history with guided visits to the Aswan High Dam and the beautiful Philae Temple, located on Agilkia Island and dedicated to the goddess Isis. After the sightseeing, return to the dahabiya and begin a peaceful sail through the Nile countryside. As evening falls, enjoy dinner onboard beneath the stars before spending your first night on the Nile.
Kom Ombo – Gebel El-Silsila – Besaw Island
Wake up to the peaceful scenery of the Nile and enjoy breakfast onboard as the dahabiya sails toward Kom Ombo. Upon arrival, visit the remarkable twin temple dedicated to Sobek and Haroeris, known for its distinctive architecture and riverside setting. Return to the dahabiya for lunch before continuing northward along the Nile. During the journey, pass by Gebel El-Silsila, a fascinating archaeological area known for its ancient sandstone quarries, which once provided stone for important temples and monuments throughout Egypt. Edfu Temple – Sailing Toward Luxor
After breakfast, the dahabiya arrives at Edfu, where you will visit the magnificent Temple of Horus, one of the best-preserved ancient temples in Egypt. Explore its impressive architecture and sacred inscriptions before returning to the boat. Enjoy lunch onboard as the dahabiya continues sailing toward Esna. Spend the afternoon relaxing on the sundeck and watching everyday Nile life unfold along the riverbanks, from fishermen working on the water to farmers tending their fields and local communities going about their daily routines. As the day comes to an end, enjoy dinner onboard while continuing your peaceful journey toward Luxor. Luxor West Bank & East Bank – Disembarkation
Enjoy your final breakfast onboard before beginning your final day of sightseeing in Luxor. After disembarkation, join a guided tour of the West Bank, visiting the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and the Colossi of Memnon. Continue to Luxor’s East Bank to explore the magnificent Karnak Temple Complex, one of the greatest architectural and religious complexes of ancient Egypt. After completing your sightseeing, enjoy a private transfer to your chosen departure point in Luxor, whether the airport, train station, or hotel, bringing your Iris Deluxe Dahabiya journey to an end.
Luxor – Karnak & Luxor Temples – Monday
Your unforgettable Nile journey begins with a seamless meet-and-greet at Luxor Airport, train station, or your hotel. From there, you will be transferred by private, air-conditioned vehicle to your waiting dahabiya. Upon boarding, enjoy a welcome lunch as you settle into your elegant vessel and your home for the next five days. In the afternoon, begin exploring Luxor’s magnificent East Bank with a guided visit to Karnak Temple, famous for its colossal columns, monumental halls, and vast religious complex. Continue to Luxor Temple, where the impressive ancient structures take on a particularly beautiful atmosphere as the sun begins to set. Return to the dahabiya and relax on the sundeck, with time to enjoy optional onboard activities before dinner. Spend your first night onboard while the dahabiya is moored in Luxor.
Valley of the Kings – Al Kab – Sailing Toward Edfu – Tuesday
After breakfast, cross the Nile to explore the legendary West Bank of Luxor. Your guided visit includes the Valley of the Kings, home to the royal tombs of ancient Egyptian pharaohs, followed by the beautifully situated Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the towering Colossi of Memnon. Return to the dahabiya for lunch as the captain sets sail, leaving the busy areas of Luxor behind. Continue your peaceful journey along the Nile toward Al Kab (Nekhbet), known for its ancient rock-cut tombs. As the dahabiya continues sailing southward, arrive at an island before Edfu. Enjoy a relaxing dinner on the sundeck beneath the stars and spend the night onboard surrounded by the peaceful Nile landscape.
Edfu – Kom Ombo – Wednesday
Enjoy breakfast onboard as you sail toward Edfu. Upon arrival, visit the remarkably well-preserved Temple of Horus, one of the finest surviving temples from ancient Egypt’s Greco-Roman period. Explore its monumental architecture and beautifully preserved reliefs depicting important religious scenes and sacred battles. Return to the dahabiya for a relaxing lunch as you continue cruising toward Kom Ombo. Later, visit the distinctive Temple of Kom Ombo, uniquely dedicated to two deities: Sobek, the crocodile-headed god, and Haroeris, the falcon-headed god. Discover the temple’s unusual symmetrical design and its remarkable position overlooking the Nile before returning to the dahabiya. In the evening, enjoy a magical candlelit barbecue dinner onboard. Relax beneath the stars and spend another peaceful night on the Nile.
Sailing to Aswan – High Dam & Philae Temple – Thursday
Enjoy breakfast and take in the beautiful Nile landscapes as the dahabiya makes its final scenic sail toward Aswan. After disembarkation for the sightseeing portion of the day, visit the Aswan High Dam, one of Egypt’s most significant modern engineering projects. Continue by boat to Agilkia Island, where you will explore the magnificent Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis and surrounded by the waters of the Nile. Return to the dahabiya in Aswan and enjoy your farewell dinner onboard. Spend your final night on the cruise while the dahabiya is moored in Aswan.
Aswan – Disembarkation & Optional Abu Simbel Tour – Friday
For those who wish to extend their experience, an optional pre-dawn excursion to the magnificent Temples of Abu Simbel is available. This UNESCO World Heritage site is renowned for its monumental temples commissioned by Ramses II and relocated to protect them from the rising waters of Lake Nasser. After returning to Aswan, enjoy your final breakfast onboard before disembarking from the dahabiya. You will then be transferred to your chosen destination in Aswan, whether the airport, train station, or hotel, bringing your Nile journey to an end. Optional Abu Simbel Tour: Not Included
Luxor – Embarkation – East Bank
Your Nile journey begins at 10:00 AM when our representative will meet you at Luxor Airport, train station, or your hotel. Enjoy a private transfer in an air-conditioned vehicle to the dahabiya, where you will board and settle into your cabin. Around midday, enjoy a gourmet lunch onboard as your Nile cruise begins. In the afternoon, explore the East Bank of Luxor with your guide, visiting the magnificent Luxor Temple and the vast Karnak Temple Complex, two of the most important ancient sites in the city. After the sightseeing, return to the dahabiya and enjoy some free time to relax onboard or choose from any optional excursions offered by your guide. In the evening, savor dinner onboard before spending your first night comfortably aboard the dahabiya.
Luxor West Bank – El Kab – Edfu
Enjoy breakfast onboard before crossing to Luxor’s West Bank for a guided visit to some of the area’s most famous ancient sites. Explore the Valley of the Kings, home to the royal tombs of ancient Egyptian pharaohs, followed by the impressive Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the towering Colossi of Memnon. Aswan – Free Day & Optional Abu Simbel
Enjoy a relaxed day in Aswan with plenty of time to unwind onboard. For those who wish to explore further, an optional early-morning excursion to the magnificent Temples of Abu Simbel is available. The temples are among Egypt’s most impressive archaeological monuments and are renowned for their monumental statues and their relocation to protect them from the rising waters of Lake Nasser. After returning to the dahabiya, enjoy breakfast and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Relax on the sundeck or in the lounge area, read, take photographs of the Nile scenery, or simply enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Depending on the dahabiya’s facilities, you may also have time to swim or relax by the water, or enjoy quiet activities such as meditation and yoga. Enjoy another full day of leisure onboard as you continue to experience the peaceful atmosphere of the Nile. After breakfast, take your time relaxing on the sundeck or in the lounge area while enjoying the changing river scenery. The day is free for personal relaxation and activities. Read a book, capture photographs of the Nile landscapes, enjoy the water or available onboard facilities, or simply take a quiet moment to appreciate the scenery. Yoga and meditation are also options for those looking for a peaceful way to spend the day. Luxor – Disembarkation
Enjoy your final breakfast onboard before disembarking from the dahabiya at approximately 8:00 AM. After disembarkation, you will be transferred to your chosen destination in Luxor, whether the airport, train station, or hotel.
